East Prussia Palaces, tracing trakenski horse and white stork route.
" And everyone who used to have their own house here is yearning for the landscape, vast meadows and fields under the enormous sky of the East, for the hermitage of woods, transparent depths of lakes, flock of wild geese in flight, cranes in spring and autumn, for evening snipe flight and morning stealthy approach through the grass covered with dew. Whoever whenever on the back of the noble horse was galloping on the autumnal stubble fields, passing round shocks of sheaves, this person will never call other land his native land except East Prussia".
Countess Marion Grafin Donhoff

Trakenski horse breeding as a cultural hertage of Warmia and Mazury.

An impulse for creating the horse riding tour programme was firstly a book "Palaces and Mansions of the Old East Prussia" by Małgorzata Jackiewicz- Garniec with beautiful pictures taken by Mirosław Garniec, secondly the article in quarterly "Trakeny" nr 3 from 2004 – written by Mr Maciej Paweł Grzechnik – "Trakenski horse breeding as a cultural heritage of Warmia and Mazury". Preword of countess Marion Grafin Donhoff made a great impression on me. In her words I can feel love for this land, where respect for work, family and surrounding plays a fundamental role in each person's bringing- up. The text included above gives the evidence of affection not only to a noble animal but also to the surrounding nature. An inspiration for creating the route was the relationship with Mr Albert Knaus, with whom I was riding in Bory Tucholskie in May 2005.
